Para cualquier mujer, hombre o nino que haya sido asesinado por alguien que una vez dijo amarlos. Estas ern nuestras hermanas, hermanos, madres, padres, amigos y vecinos, lo mas importante, eran seres humanos.

Debemos poner fin a la violencia en sus memorias.

For those whose voices are silenced. For those whose murders were never ruled a domestic violence homicide because so little information was gathered about their life and death.

For any woman, man, or child who has been murdered by someone who once claimed to love them. These were our sisters, brothers, mothers, fathers, friends, and neighbors; most importantly, they were human beings.

We must end the violence in their memories.

Remember Stacie’s name. Remember Stacie’s story. Stacie Lynn Harper was a devoted mother and loved spending time with friends and family. Stacie’s boyfriend strangled her in 2009. Her killer was convicted of first-degree murder in 2010 and will serve a life sentence. Police found Stacie’s body in her boyfriend’s home 16 days after she was murdered.

Remember Stacie. Remember her love, her laughter, and her life.

Beloved daughter. Beloved person. We remember the loss of Divya, age 28 whose husband strangled and dismembered her in 2004. Her husband killed her after she told him she wanted to leave him. She is missed greatly by her family in India. Her killer will serve 55 years.

Remember Divya. Remember her strength and spirit.

We honor Karen, whose husband shot and killed her. Upon leaving a 4th of July party, Karen and her husband began to argue. Over the course of the evening, the argument escalated and Karen suffered five gunshot wounds to her torso, chest, and face. Her killer, who was convicted of voluntary manslaughter and use of a firearm, served 6 years.

Remember Karen. Remember her story and the countless others like hers.
