With the generous support of our community, LAWS has provided emergency shelter, therapy, advocacy, support groups, legal services, and support to victims of domestic and sexual violence, completely free of charge, since its founding in 1984. We are grateful for each and every one of our donors who make it possible for us to achieve our mission.

Donating appreciated stocks or bonds to LAWS can be a great way to save taxes and increase the value of your donation. By donating securities, you may be able to take a tax deduction for the appreciated value of the stocks or bonds you donate plus avoid capital gains taxes on their appreciated value. The Hope Builders Society is LAWS’ monthly giving community. Hope Builders provide steady, reliable support that keeps core services in place for survivors and their families all year long.
Monthly gifts help sustain:
- Safe shelter for families fleeing abuse
- Crisis response through our 24/7 hotline
- Legal advocacy and representation in court
- Trauma-informed counseling for adults and children
- Services at the Loudoun Child Advocacy Center (CAC)
You can choose a monthly amount that fits your budget. Every level makes an impact:
- 25 dollars per month can help provide a night of safety and crisis support for a mother and child.
- 50 dollars per month can help fund legal advocacy and courtroom support for a survivor seeking protection.
- 100 dollars per month can help provide trauma therapy sessions for children at the CAC.
As a Hope Builder, your ongoing support helps ensure that when someone reaches out and says they are not safe, LAWS is ready to respond with shelter, advocacy, and a path forward.
