LAWS (the Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter) opened in March 1985 to
provide temporary emergency shelter, food and emotional support to women
and their children who were escaping domestic violence and abuse. Currently
LAWS offers a wide range of direct services to more than 1,500 Loudoun County, Virginia
citizens annually. Prevention and education programs are presented
throughout the county to reduce the incidence of domestic violence, sexual
assault and child abuse. Through its programs, LAWS seeks to empower
survivors of personal violence so that they may live lives free from fear,
anxiety, and danger.
All LAWS services are confidential and free of charge. If
you or someone you know, is in danger or emotional crisis because of:
Violence in the home
Violence in a dating relationship
