Loudoun County Nonprofits Awarded $140,000 in United Way NCA Community Impact Grants

WASHINGTON, DC, January 29, 2015 – Today, United Way of the National Capital Area (United Way NCA) announced that it is awarding Community Impact grants totaling $138,981 to 11 nonprofit member organizations serving Loudoun County. Each of the grants directly addresses United Way NCA’s focus areas of education, financial stability and health. Claude Moore Charitable Foundation Gives $70,000 in Unexpected Funding to Loudoun Nonprofits

Three Loudoun nonprofits have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. The Claude Moore Charitable Foundation stepped outside of their normal funding scope to support Loudoun Interfaith Relief, Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter and Loudoun Free Clinic with $70,000 in unexpected end of year funding. Loudoun Interfaith Relief received $30,000. LAWS and the Loudoun Free Clinic each received $20,000.

LAWS Receives Grant from Verizon for Teen Violence Prevention

Verizon Grant 2014Verizon generously awarded a $5,000 grant to LAWS to support our Teen Violence Prevention Program in 2014-2015.
